In Akiyoshidai, I moulded the local people’s parts of the body and incorporate them into a 6m figure of a burdock root, which is a local speciality vegetable. Over 20 local residents and 20 university students and professors participated in the project through the moulding workshops. Finally the monument was built at the field of AIAV.

A lot of stones appeared from the underground during the process of making the monument “Rooting to the Sky”.
I set those stones on the terrace into a shape of burdock root just same as the monument.
